My name is Yetunde Taiwo Rodriguez. I am a wife and at-home Mother of 3 wonderful children. I love all things related to home-making. Yes, home-making. It’s taken me years to admit that, because home-making is a lost art that is no longer valued or appreciated. I think a woman should be able to do whatever she wants to do, even if it is ‘just’ running a home.
Just a little background about myself… I lost my my mother at the age of nine. She was 32. I was raised by 2 wonderful aunts after her death. They taught me everything they knew, and for that I am eternally grateful. I developed my love of homemaking and homesteading when I started to realize just how little I knew. Now with 3 children and a home of my own, I fully can indulge in that love!
I have 2 reasons for starting this site. I realize that homemaking/homesteading is a lost and under-appreciated art. It saddens me that home-ec is no longer being taught in school. A whole generation of young people are being raised to be strictly consumers, not doers. We are all so used paying for goods and services and no longer know how to do/make anything anymore! My hope is that my readers will learn something new here. Secondly, (and selfishly hehehe) I want this site to serve as a catalog of things I know, things I’ve learned, and things I’d like to incorporate in to my life. So often I forget what I know, or see something I’d like to try, but forget about it in the flurry of activity known as life.
The books/products I promote on this site are things I love. I am not currently being paid to rate/review anything. That may change in the future. If it does, I will offer full disclosure.
Feel free to ask questions! I love sharing knowledge.
